Family CampsitesThere are two sections of family camping with 109 individual sites at Wyalusing. The Wisconsin Ridge campground overlooks the Wisconsin
River at the t The second, newer campground is Homestead located in a more prairie-like environment of rolling hills edged by forest. The positions of the two in the park can be seen on the park map. Electrical outlets for campers are provided at 24 campsites in the Wisconsin Ridge campground and at 9 sites in the Homestead campground. 30 amp. service is provided. Campsite Reservations Reservations are accepted for 88 of the 109 family campsites in the park and all of the outdoor group campsites described below. Reservations will be taken by telephone system at 1-888-947-2757 up to eleven months in advance of the start date. The call center is open from 9AM to 9PM on Monday through Friday and 9am to 6pm on weekends and holidays. Or make your reservations for Wyalusing online anytime at Please note the following quirk about the on-line reservation system. If you want to reserve a site after the last weekend of October until May 1st, and because sites are not reservable during that period, the on-line system shows all sites reserved. The fact is that all sites on Wisconsin Ridge are first-come-first-served after the last weekend of October until May 1st. (Homestead Campground sites are closed during that period. Downed wood may be collected. Due to very dangerous disease potential, there are specific restrictions on bringing firewood to the camp. Please check this link before bringing firewood to the park.
Group Camps There are two group camps. See the park map for location in the park. The outdoor group camp, near Wisconsin Ridge campground, has five tent sites with a capacity of 140. The Hugh Harper Indoor Group Camp, south of Homestead campground, has a capacity of 108 persons and consists of four dormitory buildings that house 27 in each, and a main lodge with a fully-equipped kitchen and dining facilities. Groups must furnish their own food and bedding. Reservations for the camp may be made one year in advance. Information about reservations can be found at the web site shown above. Miscellaneous Camper Information In season, showers for all campers are available in the new shower/toilet building in the Wisconsin Ridge campground and in the center circle of the Homestead campground. See the Bluffs News Tab for current status of the showers and other water. A dumping station for camper holding tanks is located along the entrance to the Homestead campground. Laundromats are located in nearby Prairie du Chien and are open 24 hours a day. Pets in the Park: See link for policy details.
